OPERATION HORMUZ SWEEP

Commander, Iranian naval forces have deployed contact mines throughout the Strait of Hormuz in an attempt to disrupt international shipping. 20% of the world's oil passes through these waters daily. The strait is now closed.

You have been assigned command of MCM Squadron 3 aboard the USS Devastator. Your mission: clear every mine from the shipping lane without detonating one under your hull.

CENTCOM has provided satellite imagery of the operational area. Mines are hidden beneath the surface - use your sonar contacts (numbers) to triangulate their positions and flag them. One wrong sweep and your crew is swimming home.

WARNING: Iranian anti-ship missile batteries along the coast have a lock on your vessel. You have limited time before they fire. Move fast, Commander. Every second the strait stays closed, oil prices climb higher.

Left-click to sweep a sector. Right-click to flag a suspected mine. Don't let the Admiral down - he's still mad about the last guy who sank a $200 million minesweeper because he "had a good feeling about that square."

HOW TO PLAY

OBJECTIVE: Reveal every safe water cell without hitting a mine. The gray tiles cover the Strait of Hormuz. Mines are hidden beneath some of them.

LEFT-CLICK a tile to reveal it. If it's safe, it shows a number (or blank).

NUMBERS tell you how many mines are in the 8 surrounding tiles. Use logic to figure out which tiles are safe and which are mines.

RIGHT-CLICK a tile to place a flag where you think a mine is. This is just a marker - it doesn't affect the game.

BLANK TILES (no number) mean zero adjacent mines. These auto-reveal their neighbors in a chain.

YOU WIN when every non-mine tile is revealed. The faster you clear, the lower the oil price drops.

YOU LOSE if you click a mine (boom) or if you take too long and an Iranian missile hits your ship.

DIFFICULTY:

Training - 40 mines, 5 min missile timer
Caution - 12% mines, 8 min timer
Standard - 16% mines, 10 min timer
Reckless - 21% mines, 12 min timer
